My brother clued me into this. If you haven't heard about this recently, check it out:
Joe Satriani, held as a legend of virtuoso guitar playing, is suing Chris Martin and Coldplay for plagiarism. Joe Satriani's "If I Could Fly," from the album "Is There Love In Space?," was released in 2005, 3 years before the release of Coldplay's smash hit, "Viva La Vida."
Satriani has asked for a jury trial, damages, AND a percentage of profits from the single.
In my own analysis, although the key is different, the chords, melody, and tempo all match up. There's an interesting video about it on YouTube, but you can look that up if you'd like.
There is no word on when the two will go to court, of if Satriani's jury trial request will even be fulfilled.

Fresh Kid: Keiichi Okabe
OK, so I don't play video games at all, mostly because I don't have the time, but Tekken Tag Tournament always stuck out in my mind for its amazing soundtrack.
Problem is, I only felt that a few tracks were amazing -- and they all turned out to be composed/produced by this guy, Keiichi Okabe:

There are few techno acts that I actually like (Justice, Datarock, Daft Punk) but this guy is one helluva composer..

Holllllyyyy Shit..
I noticed these guys on TV when I was in Slovenia. They had a big hit over there called "Punce in Fantje" (Boys and Girls):
They're called "DaPhenomena," a ridiculously Euro-trash name, but on a scale of 1 to Awesome, they're the SHIT!

This video's been circulating around youtube for a while:
The girl Pharrell's working with is Natasha Ramos. She's another one of those artists who started out as a back-up singer and only now is getting her solo career off.
The finished song is called "Midnight Hour" and was really one of the only songs of hers to be releasesd. Here's the finished instrumental, I'm not sure how I like it:
The Neptunes are famous for chromatic chord progressions, but that trend only really started recently (the most notable being Lupe Fiasco's "I Gotcha.")
